Introducing “Senile Felines”

My latest song has dropped today and I’m pretty excited about it. Not only is this the first song I’ve completed this year, it’s also the first release since I adopted my new musical persona, Water for Otters. This marks a fresh chapter in my creative journey, and I can’t wait to share it with you all. You’ll be able to find “Senile Felines” soon on most major music platforms, both under my own name and as WFO.

About the Track

“Senile Felines” is a techno/ambient track that blends deep, driving bass and punchy drums with a hauntingly beautiful chord progression. I’ve layered in lush synths and ethereal choir textures to create a soundscape that feels both hypnotic and emotionally resonant. The result is a track that’s as suitable for late-night headphone sessions as it is for getting lost in your thoughts on a long walk.

Inspiration & Direction

The inspiration for “Senile Felines” came from observing the quirky, unpredictable behaviors of aging cats—creatures who seem to drift between worlds, sometimes playful, sometimes lost in mysterious contemplation. I wanted to capture that sense of nostalgia, whimsy, and melancholy in the music. The heavy grooves and ambient textures are meant to evoke both movement and introspection, inviting listeners to tap their feet while also losing themselves in the atmosphere.

Looking Ahead

This song really sets the tone for where I want to take my music next. I’m leaning into ambient and instrumental sounds, but always with a strong groove and a beat you can’t help but move to. My aim is to create tracks that are immersive and cinematic, yet grounded by rhythms that keep you engaged from start to finish.

If you enjoy “Senile Felines,” stay tuned—there’s much more to come from Water for Otters. I’d love to hear your thoughts, so feel free to drop a comment or reach out on social media. Thanks for listening and supporting this new chapter!
